AGROTICA 2026

The European research project CIPROMED was successfully presented at AGROTICA 2026, held in Thessaloniki, Greece, one of the largest agricultural exhibitions in Southeast Europe on March 12-15, 2026.

During the exhibition, the CIPROMED team had the opportunity to present the project’s objectives, progress, and innovative approaches to a wide audience, including researchers, industry representatives, farmers, and stakeholders from the agri-food sector. The participation aimed to promote knowledge exchange and raise awareness about sustainable solutions for the future of Mediterranean agriculture and food systems.

CIPROMED focuses on developing alternative protein sources for food and feed through the valorisation of agri-industrial side streams and the integration of insects, microalgae, legumes, and fermentation technologies into circular bio-based value chains. The project seeks to reduce Mediterranean countries’ dependence on imported protein sources while contributing to more sustainable, resilient, and environmentally friendly agri-food systems.

Participation in AGROTICA 2026 provided an excellent platform to engage with agricultural stakeholders, discuss innovative protein production strategies, and explore potential collaborations to adopt circular and sustainable solutions across the Mediterranean region.

The event highlighted the importance of connecting research, innovation, and agricultural practice, reinforcing CIPROMED’s role in supporting the transition towards more sustainable food and feed value chains.
