CHIMALI 2025
On 09 – 11 July 2025, Simona Cirrincione, researcher of the Institute of Food Production Sciences of the National Research Council (CNR) in Turin, Italy, attended the CHIMALI 2025 congress held in Milan, Italy. CHIMALI is a congress organized each year by the Italian Society of Food Chemistry (ITACHEMFOOD) that reached this year its 14th edition.
The CHIMALI-2025 Congress event provides a forum for discussion of the latest discoveries, technological innovations, and new perspectives in the field of Food Chemistry and Food Sciences. The main challenges addressed included sustainability, food quality and integrity, food safety and traceability, improving product shelf life, the study of nutraceuticals, the development of functional foods and novel foods, as well as the valorization and reuse of by-products from food supply chains.
Simona Cirrincione showed some results obtained in the framework of the CIPROMED project in the FOOD ALLERGENS thematic session. In particular Simona illustrated a poster titled:
“Exploring IgE cross reactivity to edible insect proteins in shrimp and house dust mite allergic patients”
The event attracted more than 250 researchers from Italy and abroad, who animated the congress with more than 80 oral and poster presentations.
