CIPROMED Showcased at EAAP Conference in Athens

Professor Christos Athanassiou recently represented the CIPROMED project at the EAAP Conference in Athens between 29-31 of January 2025, delivering an insightful oral presentation at the Insect Genetic IMProvement, IMPlementation, IMPact (Insect-IMP) Conference.

This event, organized by the European Federation of Animal Science (EAAP) in collaboration with COST Action Insect-IMP, provided a platform to discuss cutting-edge advancements in insect breeding, genetics, and sustainable farming practices.

Bridging Science and Industry at EAAP

The EAAP Conference is a key international event that brings together experts from academia, industry, and research institutions to explore new scientific approaches in animal science. The Insect-IMP Conference, held as part of EAAP, focused on the genetic improvement of insects, the implementation of breeding strategies, and their impact on food production systems. Professor Athanassiou’s talk contributed to discussions on genetic selection, phenotyping techniques, and optimized breeding programs for insect farming, aligning closely with the objectives of CIPROMED.

Looking Ahead

The participation of UTH team and CIPROMED in such high-impact conferences underscores its commitment to innovation, sustainability, and scientific excellence. By sharing knowledge and engaging with experts worldwide, the project continues to play a pivotal role in reshaping the future of insect farming.
