Entrepreneurs Academy- MASS REARING OF INSECTS

Throwback to the 26th of July, when the event “Entrepreneurs Academy” was hosted at the University of Thessaly (UTH).

Through the event, participants had the opportunity to see first-hand the mass rearing of insects as well as the experimentation facilities of the Laboratory of Entomology and Agricultural, housed within the Department of Agriculture, Plant Production, and Rural Environment.

The event was organized by Christos Athanassiou, Christos Rumbos, Christina Adamaki-Sotiraki, and Georgia Baliota with the primary objective of bridging the gap between research and industry.

The event featured three key presentations covering essential topics for those interested in the rapidly expanding field of insect farming:

• Legislations – Utilizing Insects for Animal Feed, Human Consumption and other uses
• Critical Points in the Mass Rearing of Insects
• Requirements of a Business Plan for Setting up a Model Insect Rearing Facility
