FAAM EUROBAT CONGRESS
On 21 – 23 November 2024, researchers of the Institute of Food Production Sciences of the National Research Council (CNR) in Turin, Italy, attended the FAAM-EUROBAT 2024 congress held in Athens, Greece.
FAAM is one of the few worldwide meetings dedicated to food allergy and anaphylaxis, organized by the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI).
Cristina Lamberti and Laura Cavallarin, researchers of CNR, showed some of the first results obtained about the allergenicity potential of insect, microalgae and legume proteins provided by CIPROMED partners with two flash talks titled:
“Evaluation of ancient legume proteins cross-recognition by IgEs from patients allergic to peanut and other legumes” and “Evaluation of novel food proteins cross-recognition by IgEs from shrimp and house dust mite allergic patients”, respectively.
Both the flash talks generate considerable interest and curiosity in the audience composed of allergists, immunologists, scientists, and allied health professionals.
