FoodScience Festival (FSF) 2026
Last week on 15 -17 May 2026, the Department of Bio-Agri-Food Sciences of the National Research Council (CNR) of Italy was present at the 10th edition of the Food Science Festival (FSF) 2026 in Mantova Italy, with a stand dedicated to research, innovation, and scientific dissemination.
FSF is a unique scientific outreach event of national and international importance that addresses and explores issues related to the science of food production and consumption in a creative and accessible way. Three days of events dedicated to adults, students, and children, a new way of telling the story of the region that brings together science and pleasure, agriculture and culture.
Maria Rosaria Carillo young researcher of the Institute of Sciences of Food Productions of the National Research Council (CNR), Italy participate at the event showing the scientific activities related to the food safety carried out in the CIPROMED project and in particular those related to the detection of food allergens of edible insects and microalgae as Novel foods! The CNR stand was visited approximately by 300 persons, with students and family representing the main core group of visitors.
Overall, the Food & Science Festival was attended by more than 20,000 people, the event brings together agriculture and science, agri-food companies and researchers, has seen great participation from all over Italy, with many sold-out events and many visitors flocking to the city specifically to attend the Festival, which, over the past decade, has established itself as a benchmark for debate on the topics of agriculture and scientific research, technological innovation, and food.
