Professor Christos Athanassiou (University of Thessaly, Greece) recently delivered a presentation at the IOBC International Organisation for Biological and Integrated Control held from September 16–20, 2024, in Novi Sad, Serbia.

CIPROMED coordinator’s talk, titled “Progress Towards Utilizing Yellow Mealworm as Food, Feed, and Beyond,” highlighted the latest innovations in insect-based solutions, aligning with the objectives of the CIPROMED project.

During his presentation, Professor Athanassiou showcased advancements in using yellow mealworms as an alternative protein source, contributing to global food and feed security.

He also explored broader applications emphasizing their role in waste management and circular economy models. This presentation was a pivotal opportunity to disseminate the innovative progress of the CIPROMED project to an international audience, reinforcing its contribution to sustainable insect production and circular bioeconomy.
