KSU visit to UTH facilities
Throwback to May 6th, when Prof. Joe Gerken and Adjunct Prof. Allison Gerken from Kansas State University visited the lab at the University of Thessaly facilities.
During the visit, Prof. Christos Athanassiou presented the CIPROMED project, sharing its objectives, key outcomes, and relevance to the future of sustainable feed systems — sparking further interest and alignment with the guests’ research directions.
The UTH team had the opportunity to present their research, exchange ideas, and explore exciting pathways for international collaboration in the field of Insects as Food and Feed, with a particular focus on developing sustainable and health-promoting aquafeeds.
From modular insect-based bioconversion systems to high-value feed formulations, UTH’s shared goal is clear: to push forward circular economy solutions in animal nutrition, especially within aquaculture.
